You do not know what you have until you lose ...

begin with apologies to my friend William and another anonymous couple more to be reached to worry. I was just trying to make a campaign of expectation, I think the call. He apparently left half dramatic.

is that I used to be indecisive and now I do not know. My final decision is that I stay at McGill. And unless something extraordinary happens, I'll stay for the rest of life.

And this is the story of that decision.

Before I forget, the explanation of the title of the post. The point is that the thing and it looked quite good. So before you lose it, because I prefer to value it and stay with her: McGill.

A friend of mine is a fan of business issues, finance and investment. I asked for help it evaluate a pod that you were offering. It was not clear whether it was an investment or a course in finance or support for the issue of taxes will come up. The fact is that I said yes.

then I met with Joseph, a young country that does not speak as a country and that turned out to be very gentle. He works doing financial analysis to help families save money or invest to make a little more.

was his analysis that helped me decide that I should stay at McGill. But I do not save anything. I have no where and if I stayed, provided he would pay the debts. For me this is my best investment (which also happens to coincide with the strategies presented).

McGill The good thing is to do with the pension fund it manages. For every $ 90 that I put on the bottom, McGill gets about 160. And the good thing is that is going well in each half. Numbers numbers here and there and it turns out that this could end up being $ 650,000 for the time of my retirement. And it seems to be enough for that much work for me and give me pennies I'll be required to pay a half-decent life in Colombia.

words. I resolved the doubt on my stability and right around the theme of the retreat. Life. Almost.

Can Herpes Get Worse With Age

10 things they taught the children well in school and I still have not been able to learn

The education system here has many differences with the Colombian educational system. I would say one of the most important is related to the content. In Colombia, much more content working with students, whereas here the amount of content is lower, but I'd say it worked better. There are people who think it's best educational system in Colombia, but I prefer the education system here.

But this is not what I want to discuss today. I present a list things that children have learned well in school and I still have not learned. The list is as follows.

1. To take an agenda in an organized manner.

2. To design a work plan to perform an activity and adherence.

3. A highlight key words and ideas in texts to understand them better.

4. To write in cursive.

5. To be careful with food that other people may be allergic, such as peanut or black chocolate.

6. A properly used writing strategies, as line items in number and gender with the nouns, verbs chord, etc.

7. To build snowmen. You might think that making a snowman is easy, but it is not. The snow must be in some way to the dummy takes consistency. Children are taught in school how to make them.

8. A winter sports such as skating, skiing, etc.

9. A dress appropriately according to each season. (Now also we know better.)

10. To eat healthy snacks.

Coldsnap

Yesterday and today have felt here in Sherbrooke the cold wave that is sweeping throughout Québec. This morning when I came to study were to -31 degrees Celsius. It is important to note that this figure must be added what they call the "wind chill " , which is a figure that indicates how the wind can make you feel colder than they actually are doing. For example, you may be doing -31 degrees Celsius, but the wind chill was -14 degrees Celsius believe in, then it feels really a temperature of -45 degrees Celsius. And indeed when one goes out it feels a little more cooler than normal. Fortunately the children had no school today and could stay home and rest.

The company that supplies electricity has announced that there is a high consumption, since a large percentage of the heat of the city is electric, and therefore invite people to consume as little energy as possible in order to prevent damage to the electrical grid.

My fellow Quebecers with whom I spoke today in the climate, show a kind of pride about the weather conditions here. It does not seem very extreme cold and in general people and institutions treat all things go on as normally as possible.

Cris A yer page I shared If It Were My Home which I find very attractive in their design and nice in the way that displays information, it is possible to compare by means of percentages, the country of origin to another. The introduction page says: "The lottery of birth is responsible for much of who we are. Not If You Were born in the country You Were, What Would Your Life Be Like? Would you be the Same Person? ", and I think many who have migrated thinking that at some point.

By comparing Mexico with Canada gives the following percentages:

The website also includes a map comparing the territories:

Hydroxycut Before And Afters

Part ... What do you arrive in Québec?

Some readers have asked me to make an assessment of the various options presented in the previous post. The truth is I do not want to make value judgments about the choice that each one chooses. I think, as I said in my previous post, each case is unique and the conditions of each, it is up to each person to choose the path that you think is best for you. The intention is rather that the newcomer or next to get to know a little more about the situation to be found here, and based on it can better prepare. I say this because here I found people who have become disillusioned because they expect to find a reality and have found another. It is therefore very important to be knowledgeable and well prepared for situations that can be found here.

Despite this, if I want to express some loose ideas concerning the situations presented in the previous post.

1. People who choose to work without declaring (or under the table, as they say here) are to have many more difficulties in the future to access a good pension. However it is important to note that the subsistence minimum is assured. That is, when the person has a certain age will be entitled to an amount to live, whether they worked or not. However, if you want that amount is more important to have worked some years as this is recorded by the system.

2. When you decide to study is very important to choose what you want to study and where. I have seen many cases of people coming to finish Francization offer the possibility of going to study something in an educational institution without muchos trámites.

3.  Los procesos de homologación title and registration orders are usually long and rather expensive. However, it can do. Therefore, I recommend that if a person wants in the future to practice their profession here (doctors, dentists, nurses, engineers, lawyers, etc..) Arrives just started this process, whether you choose to work or study anything in between. If you decide not to initiate the process of approval or registration to the order that is for so and finally decided not to continue with their profession here in Quebec.

Finally, I recommend that when making these decisions will hear the views of others but with some methodical doubt. In any case a decision by history or the comment made by someone, but try to learn as much as possible to make the best decision.

Until next time ...

Points for Migration to Quebec à Cinq

"You Migrate candidate?, Do you have enough points to it?, Are university?, Any Masters?, "And the French?, Do you have children?," Extensive work experience? Ultimately this information is translated into points! When send our documents to BIQ assessment made our immigration online at all times we said we were candidates, but how many points correspond to each document sent? In the Quebec Immigration website I found a table showing this detail 'Grille Synthèse des facteurs et critères applicables à la Sélection des Travailleurs Qualifiés "

According to how I understand the paper must have for couples with 57 points preliminary examination (which is done with the documents submitted) and 49 if a single individual who applies. Then in the interview must reach 63 points per couple and 55 for a single individual. Let our example:

It appears from the table above, do not have the required 57 points. It should be noted that in the language of the Anglais put to the principal applicant at zero because it does not send any document to prove such knowledge. Possibly before our interview, we require further information in order to achieve the points required for this will most likely evaluate the option of submitting a document that guarantees our knowledge in English.

For the CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate ) must have more than 63 points (in our case) and to reach them is necessary to comply with the item of Adaptabilité (0 to 6 points) in the interview. These points are awarded by the immigration officer who qualifies through questions to the applicants. These questions are about general knowledge of Quebec, knowledge of the details to facilitate socio-economic integration and personal qualities.

insist that each migration process is different, there are those who just will not interview the CSQ, people will have it and do not achieve their goal and some will get their CSQ without difficulty, but one thing is certain, while more prepared we are easier to prove us all.

Innergize Muscle Pain

what to do upon arrival in Quebec? French Cinema

This is a question one asks from you start the migration project, still barely haciéndosela here, continues haciéndosela after a few months here and even after some years and have already taken decisions (study, work , etc.) continues haciéndosela, so I guess not much to spend on post this week to reflect on it, from my own experience. I notice that are my ideas and not necessarily what I think must be valid for other cases probably with different conditions. I think that somehow all cases are unique.

I will refer specifically to people who come to Quebec as independent and who have gone through a process in their country of origin to be selected by Quebec. These people are professionals in different areas and have work experience. They have also revealed a knowledge of French is minimal and in some cases English. The first thing to note is that the process is aimed at achieving a visa as a skilled worker and in that sense it is assumed that the person should come to Quebec to work. This seems like an obvious one, but not so much because I've heard cases of people rejected in the interview by saying that the first thing to come to Quebec would be entering school. It is a mistake in the interview because if the person wants to come to study it makes sense to ask a student visa and not as a skilled worker visa. Another thing different is that here you see the need to study before entering the labor market.

Good. Then you come to Quebec as a skilled worker with all feel like working. However, the person can find here different scenarios. Try to name a few.

1. The person realizes that brings the level of French is not good enough to get a good job, then decide to go to study French. It uses different aid offered by the Québec government in this regard. It is the choice they have made the vast majority of people I know.

2. Start working in your area. I think this is the ideal option, but not always easy. Shortly after arriving, the person begins to seek work in your area and find it. I have noticed that these cases are almost always in two areas: information technology and languages. For all other professions and trades the cases I have seen are less, but that does not mean it is impossible.

3. Start working on a survival job. It is always possible to find jobs to survive, such as making toilets, handing publisac, washing dishes, etc.. However, what I noticed is that people who take this option realize after a while that this does not completely satisfied, for several reasons. The first is that many of these jobs do not improve the level of language, then the person will in some way marginalized in the new society they came. The second is that these jobs seldom give opportunity to advance or improve the workforce, which means that after some time the person feels stagnant. I've seen in many of these cases is that the person then leaves some time to study these works, or in critical cases ends returning to their country of origin.

4. Study, usually at the university. It is here, paradoxically, where you can enter more easily, without much need to demonstrate language proficiency.

5. Another option I've seen so often is to seek social assistance and not working or studying so declared. In many cases the person performing work are not reported to keep her welfare. Is a relatively easy, but it also poses the problem that the individual can hardly make progress in work.

I think these are the most common. In a future post I will comment on them, since this entry was too long, and I know long posts almost nobody reads them.

Ideas Fir Confirmation Letters

For people who are in the process of immigration to Quebec recommend watching them in French cinema, especially films Québec. This allows them to practice your French and acquire an ear to understand more easily what they speak when they get here. They can do this, among others, the page www.cinesoir.com ( Here can access the page.) There are lots of movies there, including the latest releases.

As the idea is to see Québec films, here are three films I regard as good, and I've verified that www.cinesoir.com are available and that the copies are of good quality.

1. A dimanche a Kigali (a Sunday in Kigali).

2. Le 3 p'tits cochons (The Three Little Pigs).

3. Bon cop, bad cop (good cop, bad cop.)

I wanted to add more movies, but I found that most have been deleted or the copies are of good quality.

Where Do I Buy Remix Packs?

M and commented on the 5 à 7 ("sank-ah-set") of Quebec for those unfamiliar with the topic these two hours, not necessarily two hours is a time of relaxation after work where many gather in cafes, bars, restaurants. Mexico is what is known as Happy Hour or Happy Hour.

what purpose are these meetings?, We include:
  • To help integration, especially being a city of Montreal such a diverse population.
  • Just to have a good time with friends and coworkers.
  • To avoid peak traffic hours. I was looking
the average cost of a cinq à sept, but there is little information about it on the network.

I have a friend who lives in Mexico City (DF) and they have every Friday thing I can think of as "douze à dix", that is 12 pm to 10 pm, leave at noon to restaurant that offers food, pool and nightclub, all en uno! En monterrey lo único que tenemos es una hora donde las bebidas son al dos por uno y esta depende del lugar al que uno vaya., habrá que aprender de estos países del tan llamado primer mundo.

Violence continues in September Monterrey

E n una entrada anterior le había comentado sobre la violencia aquí en Monterrey, ahora les comparto la misma grafica actualizada al diciembre del 2010, esta información la obtuve de la pagina del Gobierno del Estado de Nuevo León .

The chart above shows how the violence in 2010 (red line) has increased by 312% compared to previous years.

Why I share the updated information?, Because the violence here in the city continues to say, newspapers and local newscasts are filled with these details. Now what is "fashionable", if I may say that way is to use grenades, often thrown at police institutions or against the general population.

circulábamos Yesterday while a main artery of the city, at about 22:00 pm, saw a vehicle driving with a lot of gold recklessness, first put before us, then leaves the lane and then to rejoin the same, for this we ask in this moment "... and this happens?" then I look left and go through again blocking our way, here's where you go back to accelerate and get around and just as we passed by the driver pulls a gun watch as long, we were astonished!, accelerate and get away from him, I asked Cristina "Did you see the gun ? "and she said" Lose!, Let go! ". Then we wondered, Were they good or bad?, Iban "by someone specific? El problema de toparte con alguien así en el tráfico es que posiblemente vaya a intentar dispararle a algún objetivo y uno se encuentre en medio, es muy sonado donde “caen” inocentes en algún “fuego cruzado”. Ayer llegamos observando las noticias para ver si hubo algún tiroteo. ¿Paranoia?, algo hay de eso, pero aun prefiero llamarlo precaución.

Twelfth Night! Regio

H oy es 6 de enero el día de los Reyes Magos , esta tradición no está muy arraigada in Monterrey as it is in southern Mexico, there are children inculcated the presence of Reyes Mayos well above what is Santa Claus, but the same process, the children look forward to the arrival of their toys. Here what is done every year is the tasting of the rosca de reyes , cooperate to buy and what is interesting about this is that when you leave the monkey in the thread will tamales the Candlemas (2 February), many say that the monkey in the thread represents Jesus Christ and translate it as blessings, be whatever, but this year I played to me, "I share a Image:

remember when I was little we put our shoes by the door to wait for gifts Kings and they left us some coins, I think we were the only ones who were celebrating so good every manages family traditions as best suits them xDDD

The big question is, Will we continue with these traditions in Montreal?, "instill in our children all these traditions?," will adapt the traditions of past or simply mix it?, not is still uncertain.

Can You Get Withdrawl From Mirtzapine

Poutine!

M Añana we will have dinner at home and apart from the classic roast is usually too much for here, we will offer our guests a typical Canadian dish called Poutine , but what is this, if you ask in Mexico if they know the Poutine you may respond "whiteness Me these?" but no, it's no gamble , is a meal that consists of mixing fries, gravy and cheese. According to About.com la receta del Poutine lleva los siguientes ingredientes:

Ingredients:
• 4 large potatoes, peeled
• 1 teaspoon salt
• Oil for frying
• 1 cup cheese curds
• 1 1/3 cups beef gravy, heated

Preparation:
Cut the potatoes lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/3-inch in width. Soak the potatoes in ice-cold water for 1 hour, drain, and pat completely dry. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or deep skillet to 325F and fry the potatoes, in batches, for 3 minutes, until they turn dark white-yellow, but not brown. Drain the fries on fresh paper towels and allow them to rest for a few minutes.

Bring the oil back to 325F and fry the potatoes again, in batches, for 4 to 5 minutes, until they turn crisp and medium golden brown. Drain the fries on fresh paper towels, salt them, and divide them onto 4 serving plates or bowls.

Add 1/4 cup of the cheese curds and 1/3 cup of the hot beef gravy on each serving of fries. Serve hot.

A continuación les agrego un video de Watchmojo.com extraido directamente de Youtube donde nos muestra algo de historia del poutine y algunas variaciones:

Aun no he probado este platillo canadiense, I'll try to do as you have a chance to try in Montreal which will see the differences!

40 Weeks Pregnant And Need Root Canal

10 things that if you did them in Colombia would be an indicator that you've spent some years in Quebec

This week I went to the airport in Montreal to have a good friend who went on vacation to Colombia for a month. During the trip, and some days before we were talking about things if done in Colombia demonstrate that takes several years living here in Quebec. There goes the list.

1. When going to the supermarket to buy beer you like to buy Budweiser, Heineken and Corona, although life took beer Poker, Aguila or Costeña. In the end, ends up buying the beers for friends not to bother much prefer imported beers.

2. When going to ask a question, always begins with "Well ... etc .?

3. Sometimes when you go to conjugate a verb in English, it does so with some hesitation.

4. When going for a drink at a cafe with friends, collect all the refuse of the table and look where deposit.

5. When driving, stop at the zebra to passing pedestrians.

6. Always surprised how tired about people everywhere.

7. He takes some getting used to nights with much noise, the neighbors put a very loud music, cars and motorbikes honk a lot and the dogs and cats are full at night serenades. In short, he complains that he can not sleep well.

8. Is astonished at the number of motorcycles driven on the streets.

9. I can not believe that nearly everyone has cell, including children and many people do not have one, but several phones.

10. He seems a little odd that the TV channels spend a little movie with strong family schedule.

When you return my friend, I ask how accurate is this list and then I'll tell you.

What about the cold in Canada?

E stamos break from the Christmas and New Year and we are waiting for some news of the CSQ (Certificat de Sélection du Québec) from the BIQ hopefully soon have.

This we in winter and in Monterrey has not made the cold we are used, it must be for global warming , the detail is that in Monterrey feel very cold even though the temperature does not decrease much. My concern is that when moving to Montreal can not stand the cold, clear, humans are highly adaptable, but still I'm starting to think about the Winter Blues and all that entails cold. To begin with I show the forecast obtained from Yahoo Weather for both cities:

To Monterrey:

To Montreal:

temperatures far in Montreal should be super used to the snow while in Monterrey in 31 years I've lived here I've only seen only twice falling sleet . Here the houses are cold in winter and heat too hot, I think the houses are not equipped to dramatic changes of temperature characteristics of Nuevo Leon. To wake up to go to work not even want to get a foot of the bed while we watch this our own steam. Why not put the house to be more pleasant in the changing seasons?, I think it is for the cost that this entails. On the other hand asked about the cold in Montreal, I commented that these are only short periods of cold day, this is when you leave your house to the car, when you get off the c Arro to work and back. Comment that, unlike Monterrey, cold at dawn and take a bath do not feel, as the houses are ready to leave the cold outside. Yet it is customary to go Québécoise their fires in the open, what value! xDDD

Then I show statistics obtained from Statistics Canada updated at the end of 2007 on weather conditions in some cities in Canada:

According to the table I still have the satisfaction that there are places where a lot more snow falls Montreal, yet, to buy our thermal underwear and prepare our sleds!

Milena Velba With Cinderella

Minicuento

I am now concerned that some children will take love and a taste for literature. For this, we started reading some things, we visited the library often and sometimes we talk about literature. Then I remembered that a while ago I wrote some stories, which I have no copy here in Canada. So I decided to write a small minicuento in the style of those who wrote before, to read and discuss it with children. Today I want to share with you. Hope you like it.

The shadow of war

War. Always the war. His life had been marked by war. As a child, had known by the stories told by his father, who had participated in the First World War. Now, in the trench, the noise of the bullets buzzed and bombs falling, fully remember all his words. The cries of despair, the lost looks, off the fury with which he attacked the enemy, all because he had known before in the words of his father. Now, it seemed to travel through paths already known and lived again as if things had gone before.

But everything he said his father could be real, I thought. Among the stories he had mixed reality and fantasy. He said his father, for example, that in the heat of battle should be careful to distinguish the living from the dead, the dead could confuse the person and increase their risk of being struck by a bullet. It was important to look at the shadow, because while the shadow of the living where they were accompanying them to the dead wandering lost among the troops, the shadow was only a memory that stood next to his lifeless body.

Again the sound of bombs heralding a new battle begins. This war had lasted longer than assumed was believed that the enemy would be defeated quickly, but the troops had shown more courage contrary expected. The days had become weeks and the weeks months and now the months turned into years and he was buried in these trenches waiting for the long-awaited victory they refused to come.

Now hopelessness gave way to a momentary euphoria. The battle becomes more intense then the bombs fall more often and can almost feel the touch of enemy bullets. But he feels freer and looser. It seems that instead of walking could almost floating in the air. A powerful urge seizes him and plunges into battle. Their fears disappear, and although it is more exposed to being hit by enemy fire, his teammates recognized his courage to face the opposing army.

But he feels something strange. The sun, which at this time of day is stronger, gives himself into his face. Afraid. Slowly turn your head and look back. His hunch is darker reality. With sadness is an inert body of which flowed blood still some threads of the holes they had drilled bullets and shadow, his shadow, clinging to the tired body no longer belonged to him.
